Queens Park Rangers chairman Tony Fernandes has admitted that the team is currently looking to sign a new striker.
However, he was keen to state that this does not mean that they will be buying a new player.
Throughout last season, Queens Park Rangers fans have been calling for the signing of a new striker especially with their current pairings of Sebastian Polter and Conor Washington being unconvincing. Fans had hopes that Queens Park Rangers would purchase new forward players during the summer, but so far no concrete offer has been made.
Tony Fernandes stated that buying new players is not the only option for Queens Park Rangers as the team is also keen to develop new players. However, fans believe that there are not quality players at the moment in the QPR youth team at the moment and that the best way to improve the team will be to sign new players.
However, the chairman has stated that the Queens Park Rangers are still working in preparing the team for the new season and if they get an opportunity they will be signing a new player. However, fans do not want to believe in empty promises and are preparing themselves for a very long season with Queens Park Rangers. They believe that the management will not purchase any new players and that they will be playing with the same squad as last season.
With the Championship season starting next week, Queens Park Rangers fans will be hoping that there will be at least a new striker to join the team to help them score goals. Indeed, they will feel that they lost a lot of points last season with the absence of a quality striker and that they have missed a great opportunity to resolve this issue in the transfer window.
